Social Networking Sites in my opinion
68
Interesting concept, but very addictive
Social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter have exploded with the number of users. Each day, more and more users join these sites. These sites are good for contacting old school mates or work mates, but once you have found them what do you do? Some people keep in contact on a regular basis with the newly found friends, but then again, some just say "Hi it's nice to see you after a long time" and never contact them again.Yet, they remain on their friend list.
Having been a user of Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, I can tell you from my experience that these social networking sites can be very addictive. I would get on to see what was happening and realized after 2 hours that I was STILL on one of them. How is that possible that someone can get so addicted so quickly to a site? You don't think that you're going to be on for a very long time, but when you look at the time, WOW! Where did the time go?
So as of now, I don't use Myspace and Twitter. I figured that Facebook was addicting enough. It's true. I still get on there and read everyone's updates and what is going on. I try to set a time limit of maximum 10 minutes now as school and work are slowly starting to pick up again. In the summer, it's a great way to just do nothing so to speak. However, when you work, work 100% of the time and try not to get distracted. When you take a break, take a nice break.
